Welcome to "Nick Revisits"

It has been eons since I have written in any sort of personal blog. Most of my needs to get my thoughts out are satisfied in my gig as a Staff Writer for TVOvermind. I love writing about all things in modern TV, and plan to continue to do so. Also, working on the Changing Panels podcast has scratched another itch for me, but there was still something missing.

However, the itch to branch out and write about things not particularly conducive to TVOvermind's format remained. I thought long and hard about what I wanted to do. During that time, several ideas for niche endeavors that could either take off or fall flat crossed my mind including: retro video games blog, Scooby-Doo blog, 90's cartoon blog, etc. So as you can see, my ideas were a bit all over the place.

That's when I came up with this idea, with the intent that it would be all encompassing. Where does someone who loves old video games, television, movies, and various other forms of media get all his ideas out in one place? "Nick Revisits". A blog where an aspiring TV critic, who's only 27 years old, can vomit his thoughts on the most recent show he's catching up on, since he missed out on a lot of it. A blog where a lover of old cartoons can revisit them with his infant daughter, and has a place to put those thoughts. That SAME blog, can be used to revisit films, video games, comic books, albums, regular books, and anything decidedly not new that I'm consuming at the time.

"Revisit" is a term I plan to use loosely. Though I will certainly be revisiting things for the third, fourth, or umpteenth time, I also plan to use this venue to visit things for the first time. Again, as someone who decided in his late 20's to become a TV critic, there is plenty of essential media that I've missed out on the first time around. I have a feeling that "My List" on Netflix will result in consistent appearances on "Nick Revisits". But, you'll also see posts from my DVD library, my old game systems (N64, Super Nintendo, Playstation, etc.). That's the beauty of it.

Anyway, welcome. Thank you for branching out and joining me out here on this limb. I will try to juggle all of my responsibilities until my TV critic career takes off. If you have suggestions for things you'd like me to try out: hit me up. I'm always looking for new and exciting things to share my cynical viewpoint on!

While I'm getting everything up and launched, please be sure to visit my TVOvermind author page and click on everything there. It'd be a huge help to me!

Hope for you to "revisit" this site soon!
